I’m John Lawler. I have been a Village Hall trustee for 35 years and chairman for most of them. We came to the village with two very young children in 1983 and I was asked to join the trustees by the then chairman Steve Poole.

I thought it was a good idea as I was new to the village and I would get to know people and contribute to the community.

On leaving university I worked at RMCS Shrivenham doing research and teaching the Army physics. I then moved to AWE in various scientific, technical and managerial roles for over 25 years.

In the last 15 years I have been very involved in delivering the new hall, and look forward to seeing it completed.
