I have lived in Lipscomb Close Hermitage for 45 years.
I grew up in North London and worked in various roles in accounting, mostly in the film industry. My husband and I (Roy) moved to Hermitage in 1979 when Lipscomb close was first built. Roy’s job relocated to Wantage and so we found a new life in the village. We got involved in many of the village activities and clubs and met many life long friends. Before retiring, I worked at The Downs School for over 15 years running the office and was part of the team managing the finances of the school. Our daughter Lesley attended the Downs and enjoyed growing up in Hermitage.
I have been a committee Member and trustee of the village hall for 45 years !
I have been the Secretary and Treasurer at periods during this time. I’m proud to have been part of the old village hall committee and the team that built the new halls, that we are lucky enough to enjoy today.
