I’m John Lawler. I have been a Village Hall trustee for 35 years and chairman for most of them. We came to the village with two very young children in 1983 and I was asked to join the trustees by the then chairman Steve Poole.

I have lived in Hermitage since 1962 – moving from Somerset as a toddler, with my family of 7.

Malcolm Disson

Like a lot of residents we relocated to Hermitage with a young family back in 2007 and quickly we fell in love with village life and feel we have now well and truly put our roots down here and feel part of the community.

Helen Hamilton

Hello. So I have a penchant for drinking porn star martinis and cycling but it is the latter you are more likely to see me doing in the village.

Pam Marr

I have been a committee Member and trustee of the village hall for 45 years ! I have been the Secretary and Treasurer at periods during this time.

Jane Staunton

I have lived in Hermitage for 21 years and moved here so my sons could attend the local schools. I am semi retired now and spend much of my spare time cooking, hence you will normally find me in the kitchen at the hall.

Ben Buffham

I have lived in Hermitage since Early 2020, and recently joined the Village Hall Trustees (in 2025) to give something to the local community, and to help maintain this valuable asset to the village.

David Byrne-Bellinger

I have lived in Hermitage for 34 years, although I also have a house in the North Laine of Brighton.
